Mullingar Rising Stars Young Horse Series 2023 is a new initiative driven by the MEC team for our younger horses

• The Rising Stars is a series for 4, 5 and 6/7 year old horses which will allow producers to develop their young horses in a less intense environment, affording them more time to reach their full potential.
• 20 qualifiers at Mullingar & various venues around the country, with the finals, incorporating a prize fund of €12,000, held at Mullingar on 4-6 August.
• Our thanks to Gerry Mullins and Jimmy Doyle, both great supporters of Irish equestrian sport, for their generous sponsorship of the series and we look forward to announcing a new sponsor of the live-streaming element of the series in the near future.

• A horse/rider combination must compete in at least 1 Rising Star qualifier (See show qualifier dates) in order to be eligible to compete at the finals in Mullingar  on 4-6 August.
• There will be further preliminary qualifiers at the finals where the top 30 horses (5YO & 6/7YO) will go through for the  finals on Sunday, and the top 25 4YO will qualify from Friday for Saturdays finals
• A rider may ride a maximum of 3 horses in the preliminary finals in each category
• No substitutions will be allowed
• The Series is open to all SJI registered members/horses with the following exceptions
  • Horses competing at ISH Studbook Series where they have featured in the Finals at each leg,
  • Horses qualified for the 4, 5, 6, 7 & 8 Yr Old Classes at the RDS, or
  • Horses competing at National GP level
• are not eligible to compete at the finals in August, but are welcome to compete at the qualifiers
• The show organisers reserve the right to alter the rules as deemed necessary
